Ramiro, Grade 5, Age 10
I use computers now for almost everything. I use computers to download music most of the time. Then I play games. For school, I write reselient work on it. I watch sports, and get news too. And, I draw. I think its important to use computers because they cultivate your brain.
Xavier, Grade 5, Age 11
I use computers to do a lot of things. I use a computer to do my homework and to play games. I use computers also to talk to my friends or tell them about my homework.
| :. How do you imagine you will use computers 10 years from now? |
Leslie, Grade 5, Age 10
I imagine computers differently 10 years from now. Maybe someone will invent a flat computer, or a three-inch keyboard. I think the computers will be really modern. There might even be an authentic computer that can be hung on a wall. We will just have to wait to find out!
Shaun, Grade 5, Age 11
In 10 years, I imagine Ill use computers just by talking into a microphone. All Ill do is speak to a blank piece of paper and say what I want it to do. Also, Id say what colors I want it to be. Also it will type for me. That will be the coolest thing of the century.
Shana, Grade 5, Age 11
In the future, I believe computers will be completely different. Computers will be able to fit in the center of your palm. Also, they will be able to do whatever you want like cook, clean, and even babysit. Lastly, everyone will have one as a nessesity. I strongly believe that scientists will soon achieve this task.
Alejandra, Grade 5, Age 11
I imagine computers controlled by your mind and just a touch of a finger. You will put on an electronic hat and say where you want to go. Then, you press the button with your finger. You just say it in you mind, and the computer goes to any web site you want.
| :. Because of the high cost of computers, many people across Los Angeles have limited access to the Internet. How would you make computers and the Internet more accessible to all people? |
Courtney, Grade 5, Age 11
I would make computers and the Internet accesible to all people by making the Internet paid for by the government and having more public computers and Internet. Taxes would pay for people to have Internet. People who cant afford computers would be able to use them at any public place. Internet would be installed in schools, too. Computers and Internet should be accessible to everyone because if not, a lot of people will have fewer learning opportunities.
Diana, Grade 5, Age 10
I would make computers and the internet more accessible to all people by lowering the prices. I would get a whole group of people with me and walk around protesting where they do stuff with computers until they finally make computers and the Internet more accesible to all people.
Patricia, Grade 5, Age 11
To make computers and the Internet more accessible to all people, I think computerists should make more lap-tops and I think libraries should have more lap-tops, and that you can check out computers (laptops with the Internet) from the libraries. I think this should happen because there are many people who cant afford the Internet so it would be fair to have some of the computers at the library to check out.
Desiree, Grade 5, Age 11
I would have people buy a computer chip which comes with every computer. When people buy the computer and hook it up, they can chat as long as they want, but every two minutes will be three dollars due to the energy crisis. If people cant afford it, they will get a discount.
