These students at Stoner Avenue were able to email their thoughts to their teacher from home. They are responding to the question, "Should there be computers in schools? Why or why not?"
First of all I think that there should be computers at school, because the students these days use the computers for so many things like to research on the Multimedia World Book. There should be computers at schools because computers are part of learning time. It's part of our learning time, because we learn how to use it and that is how we learn to multiply, divide, add and subtract. With the computer you can learn a lot of neat stuff. It is important to have computers at schools because the students can write essays. If there is ever an emergency and you need to turn the essay in ten minutes, [use a computer]. I think it's important, because it has educational games. It is also important because you can search on the Internet for educational web sites. Well unfortunately we don't have internet access at our school computers, but we have it in the library. That is why I think there should be computers at schools.

My topic for this journal is about why there should be computers in school. Computers are very important because they have a lot of technology that kids could use. Also because with out computers you can't do a lot of stuff.
There should be computers in schools so kids could take a privilege out of them and have fun. There should also be computers in school so kids could learn different stuff and educate themselves. That is why I think there should be computers in school.
In our school we use computers for a lot of stuff because it is a technology. We use them for newsgroups, writing letters and a lot of other stuff. These are some things we use computers for in our classroom.

You can learn about technology by surfing the web. Computers are made to make life easier. You use them to learn about different subjects. You can type a story. You can use your imagination in those stories. You can put graphics in stories.
