Antwane Givens, Age 17, Grade 11
I use them sometimes at home or at my friend’s house. I rarely use them in school.

Jamal A. Moore, Age 17, Grade 11
I use them to listen to music, play games, and do my essays and research.

Oliesha Young, Age 14, Grade 9
I use computers in many different ways. I use them for research, typing, reports, listening to music, drawing, pictures, and just getting information about things other than what I already know about.

Ellesseisa Carter, Age 16, Grade 10
Well, when I’m on the computer, I use it mainly for games and to have fun. But I also use it for homework assignments and important information. I also use a computer to update myself on my career as a lawyer.

Derrick M. Brown, Age 15, Grade 10
I use computers now to look up school information or I use computers to look things up on the Internet. I love using computers because they make life easy for what I’m doing work in school.

Anita Bath, Age 14, Grade 9
I don’t have access to a computer.

Porshia L. Brown, Age 16, Grade 10
Well, I do use computers now but the thing is that people think that I’m an expert at computers. I just know these things, so I know that computers will be easier in the future.

Calvin Raye Alford Jr., Age 16, Grade 10
To make music and look up various things.

Jerry Bennett, Age 15, Grade 9
I use computers to [look] up TV shows and new games that are coming out.

Estivel Guzmán, Age 16, Grade 10
I mostly use them to just have fun. I do stuff like join chat-rooms or I play games. However, I also use them to look for help with school work, which is rare, and I use it just to try out new software that comes out.

Keith Price, Age 16, Grade 10
I use my computer for downloading music, programs, or movies. I also use it for homework, but I rarely get an assignment where I have to browse the web for research.

Genell Denise Price, Age 16, Grade 11
Most of the time I use my computer to type my essays for my English class. I also use an encyclopedia compact disc for my homework in other classes when I need research. Any other time, I play my favorite game—hearts!

:. How do you imagine you will use computers 10 years from now?

Antwane Givens, Age 17, Grade 11
I would like to think I will need computers for almost everything.

Jamal A. Moore, Age 17, Grade 11
I don’t know.

Oliesha Young, Age 14, Grade 9
I think I will still use computers the same way I do now, but in 10 years I will mostly use it for business.

Ellesseisa Carter, Age 16, Grade 10
10 years from now I imagine myself using a computer to save secret files and important information. I see myself in my office on my computer downloading my clients’ background so that it can help me win my case.

Derrick M. Brown, Age 15, Grade 10
I imagine myself speaking to the computer and telling it what to do and asking the computer to look this up for me or print this out for me!

Anita Bath, Age 14, Grade 9
To have shares in the stock market.

Porshia L. Brown, Age 16, Grade 10
I think that within 10 years, I will still know a lot about computers if not more. I probably will know more about computers with it being the future and all.

Calvin Raye Alford Jr., Age 16, Grade 10
To program and design video games. I also will use it to look into the FBI, CIA, special forces, and send mail to my mom.

Jerry Bennett, Age 15, Grade 9
Well the computers are going to be helping me a lot so I can do my job as an animator.

Estivel Guzmán, Age 16, Grade 10
I imagine that it will be a big part of my life seeing how technology is advancing. I guess I’d have gotten over playing games and I’ll do more serious things.

Keith Price, Age 16, Grade 10
I think in about 10 years, I will have a job dealing with programming.

Genell Denise Price, Age 16, Grade 11
10 years from now I will own my own dance studio. I will definitely be using a computer to enroll my students and to create a presentation of dance to them.

:. Because of the high cost of computers, many people across Los Angeles have limited access to the Internet. How would you make computers and the Internet more accessible to all people?

Antwane Givens, Age 17, Grade 11
I would eliminate the high cost and make them a reasonable price, so everybody has a chance to have access to the worldwide Internet.

Jamal A. Moore, Age 17, Grade 11
Have more computers at local libraries.

Oliesha Young, Age 14, Grade 9
Well, I think computer access in not really a problem in the Los Angeles area because there are libraries, clubs, and schools where you can have access to the computers.

Ellesseisa Carter, Age 16, Grade 10
I will make the Internet free with a purchase of any kind of computers, so that way everyone can be equipped with Internet access.

Derrick M. Brown, Age 15, Grade 10
I would make the Internet and computers more accessible to all people. I will build a place where there is nothing but computers for people to use them. The cost to use them will be $5 to $10 all day long.

Anita Bath, Age 14, Grade 9
Build more libraries.

Porshia L. Brown, Age 16, Grade 10
I would get a grant from the government requesting computers for individuals and teenagers because as our population increases, everything` else increases also, such as food, clothes, homes, stores, and malls.

Calvin Raye Alford Jr., Age 16, Grade 10
Put more in libraries and in schools.

Estivel Guzmán, Age 16, Grade 10
Personally, I think people have access in many places. They are just not willing to look for them, but if it is up to me, I would lower the prices and tell people about the advantage of having access to the Web from the comforts of home.

Keith Price, Age 16, Grade 10
I think that they should lower the cost of computers and make the normal dial-up network Internet free, like "NetZero."

Genell Denise Price, Age 16, Grade 11
I would make computers and the Internet more accessible to all people by influencing them to go to the library and use the Internet, and also to save money and get one in their own homes.
