Jessica Pio, Age 16, Grade 11
I use them to do my homework, first of all. I also use them to surf the Net and to see what’s new with the things I like.

Luisanna Meza, Age 16, Grade 11
I use computers very often in my house and in school. I use a computer in school everyday. I have a computer class.

Tylee Walker, Age 16, Grade 11
I use the computers to do many reports and I search for many objects on the Internet.

Ray Thomas, Age 17, Grade 11
Now I use my computer to go on the Internet, play games, and type papers for classes. Also, I use the e-mail.

Shari Taylor, Age 17, Grade 11
Just to check email and talk to friends that are out of the state. I sometimes use it for school assignments. I also look for "animé" sites.

Finnes Murrley, Age 16, Grade 11
The only time I use them is to do reports and I don’t have many of them, but when I do it takes me forever.

Jaime Parede, Age 17, Grade 11
I use my computer for school research and for music.

Teonica Johnson, Age 16, Grade 11
I use my computer for school work as well as for fun. I use my word processor and surf the net. I chat and do IMs as well.

Shayla Phillips, Age 17, Grade 11
I use computers mostly for school projects. Usually if it doesn’t have anything to do with school, I usually won’t like the computer.

Doneshia Hodges, Age 16, Grade 11
I use my computers by doing research on the Internet. I use Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Andrea, Age 17, Grade 11
I use the computer to do my homework and for information from the Internet.

Wesley L. Santeler, Age 17, Grade 11
Well, I often use my computer to do homework, fill out job applications, and search for jobs. I also surf the Internet to find information that can be useful to me in the future.

Freddy Sálas, Age 18, Grade 11
I use computers for many types of different reasons like homework and projects. I can also use computers to browse through the Internet.

Ricardo Paz, Age 16, Grade 11
I use computers to do certain homework, get music, look at web-sites, and just surf the Net. Most of the time I just use the computer as a recording source for music.

Miguel Caballero, Age 17, Grade 11
I surf the web, use it for projects, and maybe for video games, but I really don’t use the computer that much because I don’t have one or just don’t feel like using the computer.

Ashley Johnson, Age 17, Grade 11
I use the computers for projects whether I’m looking on the Internet for information on a particular subject or using Microsoft Word to type up a report. I also use the computer for things like clip art and I’m familiar with PowerPoint.

Nate Beavers, Age 17, Grade 11
I type on the Microsoft Word program and I also check out items off of the Internet.

Kari Mejía, Age 17, Grade 11
I use computers only at my house. I use it more at my house than in school. Especially now because of my teachers Ms. Reeves and Ms. Lake, I use my computer more.

Jermel Chatman, Age 17, Grade 11
I use it to surf the web, projects, reports, games, etc. I use my computer to get more knowledge.

Courtnei Griswold, Age 16, Grade 11
When I use the computer, I sometimes surf the Internet. Also I use it for the thesaurus, Microsoft Word, and for the games.

:. How do you imagine you will use computers 10 years from now?

Jessica Pio, Age 16, Grade 11
I imagine computers in our houses giving us our food or just simply asking the computer a question and it answering back. That would be cool.

Luisanna Meza, Age 16, Grade 11
I can imagine using computers in a very weird and unusual way.

Tylee Walker, Age 16, Grade 11
I hope to use computers by exploring the world that we live in, and I also can talk to other people on the Internet.

Roy Thomas, Age 17, Grade 11
I imagine 10 years from now computers will be voice activated so you won’t have to use a keyboard, you just tell the computer where to go and what to write.

Shari Taylor, Age 17, Grade 11
I probably will use computers the same way.

Finnes Murrley, Age 16, Grade 11
I really don’t think I will be using computers that much ten years from now. What I want to do in life does not need computers.

Jaime Parede, Age 17, Grade 11
The same but would be able to do everything with the aid of computer.

Teonica Johnson, Age 16, Grade 11
Most likely I plan to use them for the same in 10 years. Most likely I will be using them for fun as well as school work.

Shayla Phillips, Age 17, Grade 11
I think I would use the computers a lot in my future. For my major I would like to take up communications and that deals with computers a lot.

Doneshia Hodges, Age 16, Grade 11
I imagine me doing the same thing I am doing now with computers I would just be more advanced in these programs.

Andrea, Age 17, Grade 11
I think that I will probably use my computers in 10 years maybe when I have my own business or if I’m looking for a job.

Wesley L. Danteler, Age 17, Grade 11
I imagine that 10 years from now, I will use my computer quite often considering that computers will take over in the future.

Freddy Sálas, Age 18, Grade 11
I imagine myself using the same type of computer just maybe it will be faster, better, or different types of sites.

Ricardo Paz, Age 16, Grade 11
Most jobs today will probably need people with computer skills. I think I’ll probably be on a computer more time than now.

Miguel Caballero, Age 17, Grade 11
I don’t know . . . probably just by touching the screen, the computer will turn on and whatever you want to find on the Internet, it will download in less than a second.

Ashley Johnson, Age 17, Grade 11
I think I will use the computers for everything I do. For instance, like e-mailing documents and receiving them. I also will need the computer to input information and to output information that I might need.

Nate Beavers, Age 17, Grade 11
Who knows—with the way that computers are taking over, the skys are the limit.

Kari Mejía, Age 17, Grade 11
I think I will use computers very well 10 years from now because I will still be using it at my house, school and hopefully at work too. I work at a clinic, so I will be using the computer there too.

Jermel Chatman, Age 17, Grade 11
For everything I do and everywhere I go.

Courtnei Griswold, Age 16, Grade 11
10 years from now, I will probably use the computer for almost everything, except personal affairs.

:. Because of the high cost of computers, many people across Los Angeles have limited access to the Internet. How would you make computers and the Internet more accessible to all people?

Jessica Pio, Age 16, Grade 11
I would make people just buy the computer already programmed with the Internet. That way you won’t have to pay for the Internet.

Luisanna Meza, Age 16, Grade 11
Well, computers are expensive but every house should have one because it is very useful.

Tylee Walker, Age 16, Grade 11
If it were up to me, I would make computers and the Internet more accessible to all people. I would tell people about the Internet and make them enjoy computers.

Roy Thomas, Age 17, Grade 11
First of all, I would lower the price for computers because everybody likes the Internet but everyone does not have the funds to purchase the computer. Second of all, I would have giveaways at schools for the best essays handwritten.

Shari Taylor, Age 17, Grade 11
Lower the price of computers.

Jaime Parede, Age 17, Grade 11
Have computers available in schools and libraries.

Teonica Johnson, Age 16, Grade 11
First of all, I would lower the price. That way those families who are less fortunate can be able to afford computers. I would also start a business to help those who are unfortunate to get computers.

Doneshia Hodges, Age 16, Grade 11
I would try to get a grant, so I could put computers in school so students would be more educated about technology.

Andrea, Age 17, Grade 11
I would help by making the computer programmed already. Also, I would make them cost less.

Wesley L. Danteler, Age 17, Grade 11
I would make computers and the Internet more accessible by providing computer labs in public libraries so the people can have access to the Internet at all times.

Freddy Sálas, Age 18, Grade 11
Some of the ways the Internet can be more accessible to all people could be if other people could go to a friend’s home, library, or even maybe at school.

Ricardo Paz, Age 16, Grade 11
Try to make buildings filled with computers for those who don’t have access to a computer because it is not fair for those people.

Miguel Caballero, Age 17, Grade 11
Make a program where all people have access to the computers or Internet.

Ashley Johnson, Age 17, Grade 11
I would say lower the prices of computers that could make them more accessible. Plus, make more available at local libraries.

Nate Beavers, Age 17, Grade 11
I would ask that the big shot corporations donate computers for low-income houses and schools.

Kari Mejía, Age 17, Grade 11
I would make it more accessible to all people by charging cheaper for the Internet. That way more people can learn more and know more. Otherwise, we would be denying education from people.

Jermel Chatman, Age 17, Grade 11
Now they have free Internet access.

Courtnei Griswold, Age 16, Grade 11
Well, I wouldn’t because if there are too many people using the Internet, the modems are slower and the dial out lines are too busy.
