Omar Rodríguez, Age 15, Grade 9
I use computers to research information about what I want to learn.

Ana Higuera, Age 14, Grade 9
I don’t use computers a lot but when I do I play games, write reports or school projects. Sometimes I use them for fun because it’s a fun way to learn.

Ana Armenta, Age 17, Grade 9
I sometimes use them to play games.

Keena King, Age 14, Grade 9
I use computers for work and games.

Tamika Johnson, Age 14, Grade 9
Well, I use my computer at home to shop, play games when I’m bored, and to type letters and reports. I also use my computer to do research papers. But most of all I use them to buy clothes and shoes.

Dennis Sibley, Age 15, Grade 9
I use computers for games and to type papers. I use them to look up things and to talk to people.

Nayobi Chávez, Age 15, Grade 9
I use computers to get information for my papers, and essays. I also use computers to chat with other people in the world. I play games and participate in survey polls.

Matthew Martin, Age 14, Grade 9
To play games, go on the Internet for pictures, and other things. We do research on the computer too. I don’t have a computer, but I would like one very much. It doesn’t have to have Internet and email. I just want one.

Robert Moore, Age 15, Grade 9
I go on the Internet and look up everything from school work to games. I just have fun.

Leticia Salas, Age 16, Grade 10
I do not have a computer. I don’t use one and that is the reason why I do not know how to use computers.

Jammie Clemons, Age 17, Grade 11
I use computers to do some of my work in class and I also use it for research. I also play games on it.

Zulema Cano, Age 14, Grade 9
I use computers to do school assignments or sometimes just for the fun of it.

Sheila Álvarez, Age 15, Grade 9
I use computers to print out autobiographies and some other school assignments. I sometimes play some games too.

Ivan Valenzuela, Age 16, Grade 9
I use computers for my own benefit to learn what I don’t know, how things work and how to use them.

:. How do you imagine you will use computers 10 years from now?

Tamika Johnson, Age 14, Grade 9
I think that ten years from now computers will control the world. By that time, everyone will have a computer.

Omar Rodríguez, Age 15, Grade 9
I will use computers like I use them now.

Ana Higuera, Age 14, Grade 9
I imagine myself using computers for my work. I will use computers for many things at home, work, and other places.

Ana Armenta, Age 17, Grade 9
I really want to see computers in ten years. I want to use them for my projects, for my work. I want to use them to talk to my friends from high school and my family in other states or cities.

Keena King, Age 14, Grade 9
I think I will be doing the same thing on them.

Dennis Sibley, Age 15, Grade 9
I will be looking for jobs and looking things up for my health and looking for places to live.

Nayobi Chávez, Age 15, Grade 9
I think that in 10 years computers will be more advanced. The Internet will completely change. Maybe something better than the Internet will be invented.

Matthew Martin, Age 14, Grade 9
I will use a computer probably for everything like my job and to pay my house bills over the computer. I will also use it to email relatives.

Robert Moore, Age 15, Grade 9
In ten years I think I will use them for work. We may use them for everything and maybe even to unlock our homes with them.

Leticia Salas, Age 16, Grade 10
I probably will control computers with a remote—what I mean by that is that there would be a remote that controls everything and work on everything on a computer.

Jammie Clemons, Age 17, Grade 11
I will probably use them to manage my money.

Zulema Cano, Age 14, Grade 9
I think I’ll use them for my work or to help other people with their work.

Sheila Álvarez, Age 15, Grade 9
I think I’ll use them to do my work and designs because I’m going to be a designer.

Ivan Valenzuela, Age 16, Grade 9
I think computers will be easier 10 years from now because you could work from home without going anywhere.

:. Because of the high cost of computers, many people across Los Angeles have limited access to the Internet. How would you make computers and the Internet more accessible to all people?

Omar Rodríguez, Age 15, Grade 9
I would make computers cost less money, so everyone can buy one.

Ana Higuera, Age 14, Grade 9
I would talk to people and the city council or governor, so they could do something about it. For example, I would tell them to lower the cost and make it affordable for the parents to buy them so their kids could have an education and a chance to learn more.

Ana Armenta, Age 17, Grade 9
My friends and I could buy one and use it for homework, projects, and to play games on it. Everyone will learn more about everything. I would talk to whoever makes computers and tell them to make them cheaper.

Keena King, Age 14, Grade 9
I would put more computers in the schools and let them have Internet on their computers, not only in the libraries but in classrooms as well.

Tamika Johnson, Age 14, Grade 9
I’ll change it by lowering the price or by having a payment plan, so everyone can afford it.

Dennis Sibley, Age 15, Grade 9
I will talk to people about them and hopefully I will make a stand and all of the high schools will have the same thing.

Nayobi Chávez, Age 15, Grade 9
I will buy computers and donate them to Inner City Schools. I will also donate some to public libraries. Internet access will be for everyone who wishes it.

Matthew Martin, Age 14, Grade 9
I would give out free Internet for about 1 or 2 months so people could see if they like it. Then they can buy it for $30 to $35 a month but if not they don’t have to. I know they will like it though. That would be a good way to get more customers and have more and bigger companies.

Robert Moore, Age 15, Grade 9
I would go down on computer prices. They shouldn’t even have a price.

Leticia Salas, Age 16, Grade 10
I would have a computer store. At my store people would be able to rent computers and after every five months you will have to return them.

Jammie Clemons, Age 17, Grade 11
I would give away money and prizes.

Zulema Cano, Age 14, Grade 9
To have libraries that people can go in and use them for any reason they want to.

Sheila Álvarez, Age 15, Grade 9
Well, I would have a place where people can go in and use them.

Ivan Valenzuela, Age 16, Grade 9
By studying hard, focusing on how computers work, and knowing that computers are good for the future.
