If you had more of a voice, what would you change in your school and community? Why do people choose to vote?
If I had more of a voice I would try to improve my school in several ways. First I would limit the number of students per class to a maximum of 30. Then I would make sure that every classroom has at least five computers. To improve my community I would place a family center in which the community members could learn about technology, participate in sports and activities, and get tutoring.

If I had more of a voice, I would change the violence among teens. And I would also try to change the way teens get hold of any type of drug. I'd make a harsher law to make store owners not sell cigarettes, and to stop the profane languages used in our schools. I would change teachers that are not motivating students through the correct path, change the way some or all teachers teach.

People choose to vote because they want their voices to be heard. And they believe they can and will make a difference by voting for a person they believe can make that change. Some examples of these changes, are more rights for people to say what they believe. And these people need laws that can be passed for their sake.

People choose to vote because they have an opinion. People vote to have a better life. People vote for new laws. Some people vote because of how they look.
- Michelle, Grade 5, Age 10

People choose to vote because they heard the candidate speak and they get interested in what he was saying. They think he’s a good president so they vote for him. The one who has the most votes wins.
- Ricky, Grade 5, Age 10

I think people choose to vote because they really like the candidate and really want them to win or they like what the presidents say in the debates, some people watch because they think they are interesting. But some people don’t watch them because they don’t understand it.
- Jaira, Grade 5, Age 10

I think people choose to vote because they believe their one vote could change the difference for this community. They think if they want what they want they should speak up and vote because they could make the difference!
- Jessica, Grade 5, Age 10
