If I could change something from my school it would be more younger teachers books, supplies. Also the student has to put some of their effort to learn, cleaning everyday equipment. Be in activities etc., I won't change the principal because he does his job like he's supposed to do it. Community, I don't think I have to change, Oh, only to be safer. And that everyone gets along.

If I had more of a voice, I would change the way my school looks. I mean it's better than it was last year but needs way more improvement in and out of the classroom. I don't feel that learning is being provided at a high rate unless the environment is right. My community is doing fine so I would not change it. My community was bad but people v oiced their opinions and changed things.
-Terrence, Grade 11, Age 16
I would change the school by fixing the school right. Paint the school, fix classrooms that are destroyed, have school materials such as books, desks, and other needs. Also, have a good environmental place around school, so we could keep off gangs and violence in our school, so that our children could have a good educational life in their future. Another thing, we need police in our streets, so they wonít be any gangs, drugs, and violence in our community, cause with that, it looks very bad for our community. So that's what I will do, to change the school and community.

People choose to vote to make their country suitable for their needs. If one doesnt like how their country is being run, then they have a chance to express themselves by making changes. Voicing your opinion is the best way to tell the world how you feel without being arrested.
- Celene, Grade 11, Age 16
Today, voting is seen as not a right, but a duty of all citizens. Voting gives people the right to have a say in issues involving their future presidents and congressmen. Each persons vote counts towards what they have deemed to be the best decision, and towards what will shape their future actions, abilities, and rights. Generally, people choose to vote to be able to contribute their personal voice on certain topics and to help support or oppose any of those topics.
- Carla, Grade 11, Age 16
People choose to vote because they make a difference by who they vote for. Its our choice who is gonna serve our country who is going to choose and give our laws. We vote so our next president is for the people, a person who really cares and support us. If no one voted we might end up with one who is racist and wants everyone whos not a legal resident to go back to their countries. We vote to choose whats more convenient for us.
