| One main subject that makes computer world unfair to many is the matter of money. Many could not have the advantage of a having a computer at home because of they can’t afford one. Within the past years, the price of computers have become much more favorable to economical challenged people. One subject that has become favorable regarding money is Internet connection. Such companies as Netzero and FreeDSL have brought the idea of free Internet into the market. America Online has made its prices fairer to many users. However, fast-connection Internet is still an obstacle to accomplish regarding prices.
Free Internet has opened a new door in the availability of Internet to many that are economically challenged. Netzero was launched the October of 1998. By now they are proud to announce that they have five million registers. There idea started a new way of thinking in computer world. They put one and one together and figured out, that if somehow they are able to show advertisements to users who are on the Internet, the company advertising could pay the fee for the user’s connection. This idea allowed many that couldn’t afford Internet Access, to have Internet access at home. Although Netzero has no problems with the way its business is going, many have found ways to bypass the advertisement. Therefore many could be on the Internet, using the Internet Access from Netzero and not have the advertisement showing. Netzero is most likely aware of this, but chooses to not spend money taking care of it for now. This is because, only a small portion knows enough about computers to figure this crack out and they loose no money. Another recent company that uses the same strategy for Internet is WinFire. However this company uses this strategy for fast speed connection. It gives free DSL service to many parts of our nation. Nevertheless, like Netzero, an advertisement bar has to be visible at all times. FreeDSL gives DSL that is considerably slow compared to normal DSL, however this free plan carries speeds about twice the speed of a 56k modem access. WinFire also has very cheap DSL plans that are available. These plans give higher access and eliminate the advertisement bar. Such services as these, benefit higher computer literate people more than the "normal Joe" computer users. This is because many are able to crack and bypass the advertisement bar mandatory for use of free access.
Another way to go with Internet access, which many choose to go with, is to pay for normal Internet, and in cases such as America Online, and other online services. America Online has many different plans that suites different people. Nevertheless, America Online is not the best choice for a common Internet User that wants to save money. Most America Online users are under the $21.99 monthly plan. This plan gives its users unlimited Internet access. However for users that do not spend much time on the Internet, America Online offers a plan that the user could only spend a certain amount of time on America Online every month. Such as $9.95 a month for 5 hours limit usage and $4.95 a month 3 hours usage. America Online also has a plan for users that already have Internet access and don’t want to pay for the Internet access of America Online and just the America Online network. Within the last few years, America Online has made available one of its most usable objects free to Internet users. America Online made a program that you can chat with people on America Online with out actually being a member. Because of this, they lost many users. This is because many of America Online’s Users were mostly a member for the friendly and worldwide America Online chatting available only on America Online, and now available on the Internet. America Online is a very traditional American Internet Access company. It is one of the first and is one of the most famous. America Online is very fair regarding availability and pricing. Almost anyone could afford a different plan of America Online.
Moving along the lines of pricing, an important issue is the speed that the Internet Access is available. Most normal Internet Accesses run through modems and are relatively slow. Only certain amounts are able to afford Internet Lines. Normally these cost from forty to five hundred dollars a month. These accesses are the best and are the most unfair regarding pricing and privileging some while not the others. With these accesses one could stay online twenty-four hours a day without having to tie up his phone line. These are very good for serving.
In conclusion, normal connection Internet Access is very fairly priced between different groups of people. In all areas Free Internet is available. However this is fairer to many than others because of the fact that some may be able to crack the advertisement bar on these Internet Accesses. America Online is very fair regarding its prices than many Internet Companies. All together, issues with the prices of Internet Access is a problem of the past and no longer makes the Internet World a somber place. It is fair to all most people and different age groups, including a school child.
