Liliana Peña: "In this day, the young voices are not being heard."

To my peers around the world, this is the real, so listen up. I know that there is a lot of peer pressure going on around the world. I'm not just talking about drugs. It's a much deeper issue than just drugs. The pure insanity that goes on day by day, the killings that occur on a daily basis and the enslavement that we have put upon ourselves. When I say insanity, which is just exactly what I mean. When you define the words, it means to do the same thing(s) over and over again and expect different results. It is time, time to choose the light over the dark, life over death. I, for one, am tired of turning on the news and seeing teenagers, kids, children being slaughtered by alcohol, drugs, guns, and gang violence, etc. When you ask me it is all nothing but one big glass of poison that is killing us all off slowly. Every day, we all step up and take a sip or more. The more we take, that is the more of us that this poison consumes daily, one by one two by two three by three four by four, etc. .... some of us slower than others in this massive killing, with the miseducation of me, you, all of us. The teenage pregnancy rate is at an all time high. Do you see what I mean? We are destroying our own future. We have blindfolded ourselves, not so we can't see at all, but so we can't see the truth. It’s like we have or third eye but this is blinded by all of these issues. If we only knew that we are the one's who shall pay at the end. The end is near whether you know it or not. The truth hurts, "scared go to church." That's why I am opening up doors for us as young people. Don't get me wrong, I know that times are hard but there is no justification for our actions. I am starting all sorts of new programs all around the US, inall fifty states, nationwide, One program will be called Higher Learning. This program can benefit young people everywhere no matter what the problem is. There will be arrangements made to meet with you in person. There will be all sorts of numbers that you can call toll free. I will sponsor save our streets programs that will be set up in every country where you can trade ill guns and get money for them, pass out condoms, whatever it takes to help change our future to ensure that there will be one for me, you, and most of all our kids.

Schools have to be improved in the aspect that they should have more books, materials, chairs, tables, and have more classrooms. More classrooms are needed because of overcrowding rooms. Students aren't able to get information because teachers have too many students. Most importantly, a teacher will be provided for each classroom. I am more concerned with public schools because they need the money to have the schools fixed.

Besides our schools being fixed, the students should make an effort to attend school everyday. That's the most important thing. I will make sure that every student gets to school early and to each classroom. Attending class is very important because that's where our students get their education and preparedness for college. A special plan should be issued in each school so that we can keep track of students attending to class. If they fall to appear they should be sent to court unless it's cleared for why they missed class. Ditching or missing school is intolerable and would not be permitted in schools.

Students' attitude should also be changed. Students are disrespecting teachers as well as administrators and all that work there such as janitors. Students are doing wrong by that because teachers take time out to deal with problems that should not happen in the first place. As parents, we should make sure our students do their jobs by having parent/teacher conferences to see how your children are doing. Disrespecting others is as disrespecting yourself. As President we are hoping for our future leaders to have peace within them, therefore it should start right now. All students should get along no matter what.

Another issue concerning our youth is that they get the right classes and education needed to succeed. For example, lots of extracurricular activities should be established and classes should be challenging for the students. This world is challenging therefore we should prepare them now by giving them a taste of how it is going to be. It should be exciting for students to get an education, as well as to know there's a possibility for them to lead this nation to its highest possible limit in success. So our students will get their good education and it will be provided for them, I will do my best for all schools to have good classes and help them in every way possible.

Being elected as your President of the United States is an honor, and a historical moment. Since I am the first African America woman, and I'm only sixteen. Well, race, gender nor age matters at a moment like this. While being the president of these United States, I'll will make changes and sacrifices. These changes will benefit the young and the old. Every child will know my name as if I'm Michael Jordan, and every adult will know my name as if I'm Michael Jackson.

My reason for attempting to make it as President was to let the world know that we need a change, and I am the woman for it. You need me, just as much as I need you. First, I -would like to start off with the children, because I love the kids. In my point of view education is very important right now. We need environments that are healthy enough for students to attend schools. Making sure that every teacher is willing to teach, and every student and parent is willing to take advantage of the public school system. We need workers who are willing to work, to make these types of environments. That's why I am here. I am here to say it's time to take a giant step forward, and to forget about past.

My next issue is unemployment. I know that there are many single parents out there who are just fixed on welfare. I am here to let you know, that it's time for you to take that big step and leap towards the job opportunities that will help you to find a day care. I am here to say that there will be a way to have children and be able to have a career. I'm not like the rest, I think of everyone, including teenagers. I know that there are many of you who want to work and want to show responsibility, and independence. I will make it so each area of employment must have two or more student workers (14 years or older), to prepare them for their future. I understand what every teenager in America is going through, and I'm here to give us all a break. It makes no sense that we have no say so in the world we live in. There's no need to complain any more, because it's time to take a giant step forward, and forget about the past. We are the future, and we need to be noticed.

I'll start with my first change dealing with drivers' licenses. You'll have to be fourteen years of age or older to get a driver's permit. If you have your permit, when turning sixteen years of age you are allowed to get your driver's license. Another change would be, at the end of every semester, no matter what type of school, each will take a school field trip, voted on by the students. My favorite change would be that every college charge tuition based on the SAT or ACT score. The higher the cheaper. Well I'm out of time, but be sure that you'll be hearing from your president again.

In this day, the young voices are not heard. No one pays attention to what the young voices say because it is believed that the youth does not know enough to make opinions. I will do all I can so that the young voices are heard because they may be young but some do know what they are talking about. There is a stereotype that people have that the next generation does not know enough to make or have their own opinions. I would speak with Congress or anyone else who would have a say so in listening to the youth. I would ask Congress to give the youth a chance to express themselves. Congress should at least try to listen to others concerns and opinions. The youth of America should be heard because there are issues that the youth of America know more than the adults who make the decisions. One of the most important issues concerning the youth is education. I would closely study and analyze everything that the youth wants or wishes for. We could work to have a solution or an answer for the youth. I will do all this to help them have a better future on anything that they believe is needed. This is going to be done because today's youth is tomorrow's future.
